Hello and Welcome!
Escape into my world of fantasy, occasional magic, adventure, travel and dance.
Whether you are a young reader or older, a member of my family or part of my circle of friends, I’m delighted you dropped by. And I hope you’ll find something to interest you on my site.
My children’s books are full of fantasy and magic, sometimes sprinkled with ballet and/or worldwide travel. My blogs are mostly about my travels and written for family and friends, but you’re welcome to read them if you’re interested. They invariably include my dogs, and sometimes the cat, though he doesn’t travel with us so tends to get left out.
So, here’s a little bit about me. My school days were spent at ballet boarding school which is where I get the inspiration for The Graceful Ghost. After I left, I spent a few years dancing around Europe before I opened my own ballet school in Athens, Greece. Now I live in rural England with my husband and our pets.
Apart from writing, animals are my passion! I’m so lucky to live in the countryside, on a smallholding, where we have hens, sheep, occasionally horses or cattle (we had Highland Cattle for a while) dogs, cats and an abundance of wildlife.
Sadly, we lost our precious Digit in April ’24.
No one will ever take away the special place Digit has in our hearts! But we created a new place for Jumble .
Like Mokey, we rescued Jumble from Romania. Never were two dogs more happily matched despite being four years apart in the adoption process!
They are the best of friends and are often to be seen mirroring each other!
Along with the cat, who thinks he’s a dog
they continue to share my office space with me and keep me company with their snores.
I call my office The Burrow, because it’s in a field and is as cosy as a rabbit’s burrow. Then I spell it Burreau, which is a mixture of burrow and the French bureau (office). The cat is called Moji (which frequently gets confused with Mokey!)
