Kind Words from Our Happy Readers

[Ballet School Rumours]

A moreish indulgent third instalment.

The plot is as fast-paced and punchy as usual although there were a few aspects that I felt could have been delved into deeper, which would have added to the story, especially in regards to the new student and her back story. Fingers crossed there’s a fourth book that allows Nyree to shine. Again, the book leaves us with question after question that has us turning the pages to the very end.

Moreish and indulgent, Ballet School Rumours delivers another fantastic story.

A cracking third adventure in the Amberwood Hall Ballet School series

This series is so well written and the third instalment certainly doesn’t disappoint. The characters are cleverly crafted and the storyline unfolds at a pace designed to keep you wanting to know what happens next, making it difficult to put the book down. Looking forward to the fourth instalment already. Let’s hope Eleanor can find the time to work on it in the not too distant future.

Such cheeky ghosts

A mischievous ghost who I just love. Although targeted for pre teens, as a 44yr old I love this series, the storyline and characters are excellent, and I feel alot more to come at Amberwood.

Entertaining, Energetic and lots of Ballet!

I loved “The Graceful Ghost” and I loved “Ballet School Boys” just as much! Life in a boarding school is brilliantly portrayed and with the exciting addition of the ghosts, the whole theme takes on a new angle. Eleanor has such a depth of knowledge when it comes to ballet, you feel as though you’re in the school with Lauren, Katie and the gang, learning how to dance! There are plenty of girls and boys out there who dream of becoming the next Margot Fonteyn or Darcy Bussell. “Ballet School Boys” is a fun and exciting read for anybody, but an absolute must for any budding ballerinas!

A strong sequel

Ballet School Boys has us dancing back to Amberwood Hall for the second instalment in this charming series by Eleanor Dixon. With just as much mystery and mischief as its predecessor, this book maintains the page-turning quality that The Graceful Ghost gave us.

The plot is pacy and easy to read, perfect for those aged 8+ who are wanting to delve into the world of slightly longer novels but without the complexities that can often come with a lengthier title. Well-edited throughout, you find yourself swept away in the story.

Another great read!

A brilliant and exciting continuation of The Graceful Ghost. Beautifully and perfectly written for this age group. Having said that I thoroughly enjoyed it myself. Perfect descriptions of life at boarding school and again took me back in time.

Such a lovely book!

Really enjoyed this book. A must-read for all young dancers who need to believe in themselves - and ghosts! Can’t wait to read another

[The Graceful Ghost]

A perfect pirouette of a novel.

With page-turning quality, this book is the perfect little read for 10-14 year olds with a love for dance, rivalry and the supernatural.

…it’s the sort of tale that has you reading just one more page when you really should be turning off the light. The characters themselves are consistent in their personalities with the main protagonists having depth to their motives and actions, a depth that will hopefully be expanded upon as the series progresses.

A lovely ballet school story with a twist

This is a lovely story, set in a ballet school but with an unusual twist. The writing is charming, and kept me, (an adult reader,) engrossed.

Loved it

OK I'm a 40+ Yr old, so this isn't my typical read but gave it a go and loved it. Can't wait to see what Tally gets up to next on her world trip. Even my 10yr old who doesn't like reading loved this one, so I even had to get the first in the series too.

Thrilling adventure in a beautiful setting!

In the first book of the series, I was totally drawn in by the beautiful descriptions of India. In the second book, Tally goes to Canada and the descriptions are just as vivid. The story is a winner too - Tally is such a likeable protagonist and the mystical elements are portrayed so cleverly, you almost feel they are real. The plot has some brilliant twists and turns, just like the sledges! I enjoyed "Tally and the Angel: Book Two" as an adult, and I can think of plenty of children who would enjoy it too. I'm looking forward to finding out where Tally goes next!

Thoroughly engaging tale from start to finish, captivates readers old and young!

I was very surprised that this is a children’s book. I’d have classed it as Young Adult at the very least. A thoroughly engaging tale from start to finish, it is part of a series that would captivate readers old and young! Amazingly recorded as mostly of Tally’s thoughts, her adventure is one that the reader can fully get involved with - we can feel the icy cold, hear the sounds of the dogs barking, and sense the strange vibe of the unusual village that is both a curse and a blessing! Through the highs and lows, we desperately want to have Tally and her Dad safe. 5 stars from me, definitely!

A lovely beginning to this children's series! Reviewed

This was a lovely children’s book and one I would definitely recommend for young readers. The author's writing was really easy to follow and the story was interesting. I could definitely see young readers reading this book and wanting to read more of the series. It definitely got my imagination going! The author's descriptive language could definitely be used as a talking point for readers as well as some of the themes that come up in Tally’s story.

Definitely an enjoyable read and one I would recommend!

A beautifully descriptive and engaging tale for middle-grade readers.

A beautifully descriptive and engaging tale for middle-grade readers which pulls its audience into the story from the very beginning and keeps the pages turning. The characters and dialogue are both realistic and credible, especially the way in which the Angel Jophiel interacts and guides Tally along the way. The story moves along at a good pace and keeps the reader invested in Tally’s journey and the challenges she faces not only on a physical level, as she attempts to rescue the kidnapped children, but on an emotional and spiritual level.

A beautifully written story about adventure, love and friendship.

Though I’m an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It grips the reader and stirs many emotions. It’s a fascinating adventure story - in my opinion, this is great for early teens and over. Brilliant!
